Protecting the place that matters most

Coverage for every kind of New York home

Whether your home is a Cape Cod in Bohemia, a colonial in Sayville, a waterfront cottage on the East End, a brownstone in Brooklyn, a farmhouse in the Hudson Valley, or a year-round retreat on Lake George, we help New York families protect the place that matters most. Based right here on Long Island and serving clients across the entire state, we're a local insurance agency that writes coverage for single-family homes, condos, co-ops, townhouses, rental properties, vacation homes, and the homeowners just starting out with their very first closing.

What makes our home coverage different isn't the policy — it's us. We've been named an Elite Insurance Agency seven years running, and we earned it by leading with service, not sales. We answer the phone. We text back. We email. We meet in person when that's easier — at our office or yours. You talk to us the way that fits your life, in English or Spanish, and you get a real person who already knows your file.

We sweat the small stuff because the small stuff is what people miss. The kitchen renovation you didn't tell anyone about. The new roof that should drop your premium. The jewelry, art, or collectibles that need scheduled coverage beyond the standard policy limits. The coverage gap that appears when you finish the basement. We catch those because we're paying attention.

What we'll talk through with you

Dwelling coverage at today's construction costs (not what you paid ten years ago). Personal property — your belongings, with scheduled coverage for engagement rings, watches, firearms, instruments, and fine art. Liability protection, the part nobody thinks about until they need it — from the dog that nips a neighbor to the slip on your front walk in February. Loss of use, which pays for somewhere for your family to stay if your home is unlivable after a covered loss. And the add-ons worth considering — water backup, service line coverage, identity theft, and umbrella policies for higher-net-worth families.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Does homeowners insurance cover flood damage?
No. Flood is specifically excluded from every standard homeowners policy. On Long Island this matters — Sandy re-mapped the south shore, and roughly 220,000 Long Islanders now live in a FEMA flood zone in a worst-case hurricane scenario. To be covered for flooding you need a separate policy, either through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) or a private flood carrier. We write both.
How much home insurance do I need?
Enough to fully rebuild your home at current construction costs — not what you paid for it or what it's worth on the market. Construction costs on Long Island have climbed sharply in recent years, and underinsured homes are one of the most common surprises after a loss. We review replacement cost every year to keep your coverage in step.
What's NOT covered by a standard home policy?
Flood, earthquake, routine wear and tear, pest damage, mold from long-term leaks, and business activity run out of the home are the most common exclusions. Some of these can be added with an endorsement or a separate policy. Ask us — we'll tell you straight.
How does the claims process work?
Call us first, before you call the carrier. We help document the damage, file the claim through the carrier's mobile app or online portal, and advocate for you if the initial offer doesn't match what you're owed. For most clients, having a local agent in the loop means faster, cleaner claims.
